Carl

I met Nate around 4 years ago when he visited my indoor golf studio with his son. It was a normal interaction. I honestly can’t remember more. Then I saw him again when we both worked an event for the First Tee of Charlottesville. He was running his photo booth business and I had a table to promote Anytime Golf. We talked a bit, again, nothing too memorable.

I want to say, a few months later, Nate and I ran into each other and Nate was different. He was very engaged and full of spirit. He said, we have to talk, I have to share a story with you. I was very busy at the time, I could tell it must be profound, he was different.

Life gets in the way for me. Months later, I called Nate and he suggested we have a discussion over lunch. So we did. We met at Cava and the story Nate shared with me was amazing! I won’t retell the story, it’s better if you hear it from Nate, but I will share that I was one of the last people he saw before he was set free at a home church prayer group. His testimony is very powerful! I could feel God’s presence with us at lunch. Nate asked me if I was feeling any pain. I said that I am experiencing lower back and neck pain. He prayed for me. The pain left. It was amazing! Nate prays with a boldness and confidence that is inspiring! He shares his faith so freely and boldly. He listens well too. He hears where you are coming from and shares his love for Jesus and Jesus’s love for all of us.

After another lunch with Nate, I decided I wanted to be set free too. I considered myself to be a Christian, but I wasn’t walking it out like Nate was walking it out. I wanted to dedicate my life to the lord, and Nate baptized me in a jacuzzi at his father’s house. It was an amazing experience. I never felt so much love.

Nate and I have gone on a few adventures since. We’ve prayed for homeless people on the streets, gone on drives to visit churches, and shared many meals. Nate clearly shares his perspective on our world and God’s love for us. He has a heart of God and clearly helps people turn towards God’s calling in their lives. Nate is a Kingdom man! He prays for the sick and many are healed! He prays over people and many are set free! He loves and protects his family and alway is present with the Lord. He listens to God’s voice and is obedient. Nate is strong, bold and faithful: his strength is clearly from the Lord. His presence blesses my life and our community.

Specific events:

Carl’s neck and back

Nate prayed over my neck and back and the pain left me immediately! Praise be to God!

Nate’s street ministry

Nate and I walked the downtown mall in Charlottesville and prayed over homeless people. Nate
connected with many individuals and shared the gospel and how Jesus loves them. Nate prays
over people with authority. Many are healed!

Nate’s sermons

I have heard Nate testify in church a few times. His messages are clear and powerful! He
shares how his relationship with God has changed his life and how Jesus has set him free. He
tells real stories of healing and sharing that inspire me and others to walk more boldly with
Jesus. His understanding of the Bible and the insights he shares are also inspiring.

Your Dad came in with you and your brother and some adorable children. Your Dad normally shopped with us about once a year. We all exchanged polite conversation. You left the store first and came back shortly after your Dad left and you asked me about pain, physical or other, and I’m sure the color drained out of my face, as I turned to really focus my attention on you.

I remember asking how you knew that. We’d just met... right? You clearly and with conviction explained that you were a spiritual healer and that God told you I was in great pain. You asked if we could pray and I say yes! I was skeptical. I mean if you’ve never experienced something like that before and you’re thinking of every single demon possession Hollywood can create.

Then I remember thinking, why not! Yep! Let’s do this.

Here’s the part you couldn’t have known, the edited version... I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). I’ve been plagued with horrible pain in both legs from the hip down. I’d seen specialists with both local hospitals; I had a spinal cord implant; I’d been placed in a ketamine coma for 7 days; nerve blocks, Cortisone injections, not to mention years of physical therapy.

You and I prayed right there in the middle of the jewelers. I can’t remember every word, but I remember how I felt almost immediately. We exchanged some awkward (on my end) conversation and you were gone. You see, I didn’t realize at the time that I would begin using less pain medication and I would find the voice to advocate for myself with my doctors because pain no longer took center stage in my life.

You gave me my life back. But it wasn’t you at all. It was God! God was working through you. He sent you to me. However he told you, the message got delivered. We prayed, you spoke and God worked!!

Nate, you worked a miracle on me that day. When I tell you I had received the best pain care my insurance would cover, I’d been to extreme measures and I was one of only a few patients to ever be placed in medical coma for the treatment of CRPS through UVA. I’d spent so much precious time unable to move, walk, dance, run. Can you imagine the kind of pain it takes for a mother of “adult men” to ask for their help bathing or getting on or off the toilet? Dark, dark days my friend.

By the time we met, I was only about 2 years out of a wheelchair and walking without help. No doctor accomplished any of that. That was will, strength and determination all given to me by God. You my friend gave me so much more than a pain free life. When the pain was leaving my body and I didn’t have it controlling me, I got stronger. Physically and mentally. My Mojo came back.

1. Little by little I took myself off the 15 pills I was taking every day. Today, I take pain medicine as needed for break-through pain flares.

2. I landed one of 3 promotions that I would receive while at Kay.

3. I divorced my ex-husband after 23 years of abuse.

4. I met the love of my life (at Kay) and we will be married 2 years in August. We are a well-blended family of 7 kids: 5 boys, 2 girls ages 9-31. We’ve got 7 grandkids: 5 girls, 2 boys.

All of this was Gods plan. He knew all of this. I didn’t. Maybe he told you, LOL! The pain beat me up daily. It kept my head full of doubts, it created fear. The pain was still in control, until you walked into my life and my store 😂. God has given you a gift that most, even Christians, will doubt; but God works through you. I know that as well as I know I need air to live. It’s not just words. It’s a miracle!
